Valentin Aleksandrovich Serov

On Friday in class we discussed the Russian artist Valentin Aleksandrovich Serov (1865-1911). I really enjoyed the following paintings.

  3. I don't know who she is. All I know is that the painting is called "Girl with peaches" and is one of Serov's most famous paintings.

  5. The Girl with Peaches is a portrait of Vera Mamontova. 1887. Oil on canvas. The Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia.

    The two children are Sasha and Yura Serov. 1899. Oil on canvas. The Russian Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia.

    From the web site noted previoiusly. Interesting how the dog's ear points upward to the face of Prince Yusuov.
